The owners of Biryani Palace in Victoria have opened their next venture - a fully Halal Pizza Restaurant also in Victoria!

Cut the Crust by Mona is serving traditional Pizzas along with their own Desi Creations such as Lahori Chicken Keema Pizza, Chicken Chapli Kebab Pizza, Kadhai Chicken Pizza and more.

I was only in Victoria for the day and was only able to order from their pizza display as I was short on time to catch my ferry home. InshaAllah next time I will order from their menu. The meat lovers and pepperoni slices I ordered were good and would order them again.

The berry freeze drink I ordered was delicious.

May Allah give the owners Barakat in their new business. Ameen!

Great news for the Bangladeshi community—a new, fully Halal restaurant, Mia Mia, has opened in Delta (former Tasty Donair location, across from Superstore). I tried their Beef Vuna, Shami Kabab, Beef Tehari, Samosa, and Borhani, and each was fantastic with reasonable prices. This is an excellent spot for beef lovers and fills a gap for Bangladeshi cuisine in town.

Let’s support them like we do for other cultural restaurants. Share your feedback with the owners—it helps them grow!

Chicken World - a local chain of Fried Chicken restaurants owned by Muslims that offers some delicious fried chicken and sandwiches using their own special blend of spices and ingredients.

Definitely a better alternative to other chains!

Re: Update from KFC Canada

The admins of Halal in Vancouver and Halal Foodies Vancouver have reached out to KFC Canada’s head office regarding the Halal status of their locations in British Columbia. We are pleased to confirm that, effective immediately, all KFC locations across Canada are now Halal.

In British Columbia, KFC sources its chicken from Sunrise Poultry, which follows an Automated Halal Process. For clarity, this means that a Muslim recites the Tasmiyyah over each chicken during the machine-slaughter process. Sunrise Poultry is certified by the Canadian Halal Food Certification Agency (CHFCA).

Additionally, we’ve also been told that KFC has made several menu adjustments to ensure Halal compliance, including removing bacon, updating their gravy recipe, and ensuring their buns and wraps do not contain any animal by-products.
