KFC Canada: Official Halal Status Update
The Admins of Halal in Vancouver and Halal Foodies Vancouver had reached out to KFC Canada’s head office several months ago regarding the Halal status of their locations in British Columbia.
We are informing our group members that KFC has now formally confirmed (in writing) that all KFC locations across Canada are now fully Halal.
In British Columbia, KFC sources its chicken from Sunrise Poultry, which follows an Automated Halal Process. For clarity, this means that a Muslim recites the Tasmiyyah over each chicken during the slaughter process. Sunrise Poultry is certified by the Canadian Halal Food Certification Agency (CHFCA).
The above is being shared for community awareness purposes only as part of our mandate to publicize which establishments are serving Halal food. It does not represent any endorsement of KFC nor their certification process.
Individuals are at liberty to ultimately make their own decisions on which restaurants to dine at.
